As kids, there were many movies that we used to watch on Star Movies, HBO, especially the children-centric movies. Out of all the movies, there are a few which we can watch even today, there are few movies which aren’t a one-time-watch, some which we want to watch again and still experience the same amount of fun as we experienced while watching it for the first time. These movies never get old, and never let us get any older, bring back all the childhood memories. Grab some popcorn, because here’s a list of a few movies which you can watch again in your late teens or 20s…

HOME ALONE                                                                                                                

Home Alone was released in 1990, it’s an American Christmas comedy film. The film stars  Macaulay Culkin who plays the role of Kevin McCallister, a boy who is left behind by his family mistakenly. His home is attacked by two would-be burglars. ‘Would-be’ because they couldn’t burgle, Why? Now, that’s the essence of the movie, go watch for more if you haven’t yet! This movie is sure to make anyone nostalgic about the good old days, for all those who’ve never had enough of this amazing film.




Hocus Pocus is a 1993 film, it’s an American Halloween fantasy-comedy film, it stars Bette MidlerKathy Najimyand Sarah Jessica Parker playing the role of the three witches, the witches are inadvertently resurrected by a male teen in Salem. This film became a cult film and it still airs on TV every Halloween. It’s a fantasy movie largely being aired on Disney Channel, grabbing the attention of many kids since ages. Its surely which most of the movie buffs would have watched and it can’t be given a miss.

Charlie and the chocolate factory stars Johnny Depp as the owner and founder of the Chocolate Factory along with the little kids who visit his factory on winning the golden ticket contest. Every time a person watches this movie undoubtedly would end up craving for the Willy Wonka chocolates, and an entry into the factory. The chocolate fountains, candy mountains, chocolate rivers are surely very tempting even today.




Honey, I shrunk the kids is a 1989 American science fiction family film. It was produced by Walt Disney Pictures. “Honey, I shrunk the kids” is a film of an inventor who accidentally shrinks his kids and his neighbour’s kids with the machine he created. The machine is an electromagnetic shrinking machine and shrinks the kids to a quarter of an inch, the kids end up in the backyard where they have to venture, fending off insects and other obstacles.



Nanny McPhee is a 2005 family comedy film which is based on the book Nurse Matilda by Christianna Brand. The children find ways to send her away, but all their attempts gave no results, by the end of the movie Nanny McPhee develops a very close relationship with the kids. The most famous line from the movie which Nanny McPhee says to the kids when she meets the kids for the first time and when she leaves surreptitiously is, “ “When you need me, but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me, but no longer need me, then I have to go”.
